We’re pleased to announce that RemSense is now officially a BARS Registered Aircraft Operator, having successfully completed the accreditation process under the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS).
This globally recognised certification highlights our commitment to safety, quality, and strong operational standards in all our remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) operations across high-risk environments.
What is BARS?
The Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) is an international safety program developed by the Flight Safety Foundation. It offers a consistent and independent way to assess and monitor aviation operators working in challenging or high-risk sectors.
BARS is widely used by leading companies across the resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors to reduce risk and ensure operators meet strict international safety standards.
Achieving registration requires passing a detailed audit that looks at every area of flight operations, including planning, training, procedures, risk management, and incident response.
What was Audited
Our recent audit covered the full scope of our RPAS operations. It also included two specialised operational types:
- Offshore Operations, for aerial inspections and capture in marine and coastal areas
- External payload operations (suspended loads), for projects requiring non-standard drone configurations or equipment
We’d like to thank the auditing team at WAKE (QA) LIMITED for their professionalism and the depth of the audit. Their insights not only confrimed our compliance but also added practical value to how we operate.
Why It Matters
Becoming a BARS Registered Aircraft Operator gives our clients an additional layer of confidence when working with RemSense. It demonstrates that we:
- We meet stringent global aviation safety benchmarks
- Our operations are reviewed independently each year
- We’re committed to improving how we work
- We deliver reliable service across critical sectors, including energy, mining, and infrastructure.
Whether supporting asset inspections, infrastructure mapping, or complex site operations, our clients can trust that safety and accountability are always part of the flight plan.
